The concept is " Arduino compatible for minimalists", and it was designed to be as small as possible without sacrificing usability. The power supply reverse current prevention diode and reset switch have been removed. Reset is done by plugging and unplugging the USB cable on the PC side. Since the design focused on the number "8", it ended up with too many 8s, so in addition to the specifications, promotions, prices, etc. were also unified with the number "8". First, 8 units were sold at "Hinamono Lab" on August 8, 2014, then 88 units were sold per day at "Maker Faire Tokyo 2014" held on November 23-24, 2014, and online sales began on January 28, 2015 from Switch Science. For those who are familiar with 8pino is a product for people who are somewhat familiar with Arduino, so it is not for beginners. Also, if frequent debugging of programs is required, it is recommended to use Adafruit Trinket 8MHz (3.3v logic) and then write it to the 8pino.
